Receiving a Rejection Letter

For some months ago, I applied for a government grant. I spent many hours in meetings and writing the application, hoping that I would succeed with the application.

Yesterday, I got an email saying they don’t want to fund the project. That they reject the application.

At first, the rejection hurts. But then I start to think, what would have happened if I didn’t apply?

I wouldn’t have had that rejection, right? Would that have been better?

Not really.

Every single rejection is a sign of action. It is the non-negotiable price we have to pay for the occasional win. Any challenging task will come with some failure in the process.

Whenever you see your inbox filling up with rejection letters, remember yourself of the true reason to why they are there in the first place – you made a decision, you took action, you moved forward.

What we should be afraid of is not seeing any rejections in our inbox. Because that might be a sign that we have stopped trying.

Let those rejection letters be yet another sign of your progress and hard work.

Because, those letters of rejection is just another sign of your progress.

Hello, I’ve read this article about rejection and feel the same thing about rejecting when it refers job applications. After all, that’s annoying and best to do not give up 🙂 anyway, thanks Andreas for sharing!
